This 1920s home needed a full bath remodel. We demo’d the old stuff and hauled it off. Next, we replaced the subfloor, updated plumbing, and installed water protection materials on the entire floor and shower enclosure. Then, we installed all-new hardware and tile, hung new lighting, mirror, teak shelving, and bluetooth-capable bathroom fan.

The stairway and landing had safety issues. The existing banister was flimsy, and below the height specified in today’s NC residential safety code. We came up with a solution to keep the existing support posts, and make them taller to accommodate a safe banister height. This resulted in cost savings, and minimal demolition. We installed a new, strong banister at code height. We installed cable ties for a clean modern look, and installed a new handrail for the stairs.
